The lecture examined in depth the phenomenon of borrowing verbs from English in contemporary French, offering a linguistic analysis of their resistance to traditional inflectional rules and how they become integrated into everyday digital discourse.
In continuation of its series of academic meetings,the French Language Group of the Research Laboratory on Language Didactics at ENS Sétif hosted its sixth online scientific lecture (No. 06 of 17), held in the Distance Learning Hall, on April 8, 2026.
- It was delivered by Professor and researcher Vincent Renner of Université Lumière Lyon 2 (France) and was titled: “J’ai screenshot, j’ai report, j’ai bloque”: A Study of Non-Inflection in English-Derived Verbs in Contemporary French.
